Managing Partner/Executive Chef
I am a life long learner. I believe that you never work a day in your life if you enjoy what you do. Running my own business and working along our team affords me the opportunity to continually grow and to learn from those around me. When my parents came to the U.S. under refugee status after the Vietnam War ended, they literally left all of their family, belongings and life behind. They worked extremely hard to build a dream business of their own in the United States while instilling the importance of education, hard work and dedication to their children. Opening Hue Restaurant has given me the opportunity to come full circle with my life.
My family was placed in a small town in southern Wisconsin. We were the only Vietnamese family in town and were not exposed to Vietnamese traditions or language. except in the home.
“This business has helped me embrace the beauty and uniqueness of our culture and I have gained a better understanding of my family, homeland and heritage. In return, we have made it our mission to share it with anyone willing to try a new cuisine and to learn a little about Vietnam.”
We named the restaurant Hue Restaurant in homage to my family. Once the royal capital of Vietnam, the rural countryside of Hue is where my family is rooted and where close family still resides today.
